The Global Workday Platform Manager is the ultimate strategic owner, architect, and operational leader of the company’s enterprise-wide Workday ecosystem. This role has end-to-end accountability for the entire Workday technology stack—spanning Human Capital Management, Financials, Integrations, and adjacent Workday products. Leading a global team, this role ensures the platform functions as a single, cohesive enterprise engine that supports global operations, drives automation, and scales alongside the business.
1. Total Platform Ownership & Governance
End-to-End Stack Accountability: Serve as the final authority on the configuration, architecture, and deployment of all Workday products across the entire enterprise (including HCM, Financials, Integrations, etc).
Global Strategic Roadmap: Define and execute the multi-year global Workday roadmap. Lead the business through the evaluation, impact analysis, and deployment of all Workday major updates, new module adoptions, and continuous features.
Vendor & Lifecycle Management: Act as the primary corporate relationship owner with Workday and related ecosystem partners. Manage platform licensing, scope of work (SOW) evaluations, and the total operational budget for the platform.
2. Global Team Leadership & Delivery
Team Management: Direct, mentor, and scale a global, distributed team of Workday Administrators, Business Analysts, and Engineers.
Operational Excellence: Define and enforce system-wide governance, change management processes, and support frameworks to ensure reliable, high-quality platform delivery globally.
Partner Management: Oversee external implementation partners and managed service providers (MSPs), ensuring external resources are deployed efficiently to support core business goals.
3. Enterprise Integration & Cross-Functional Architecture
Data & Integration Continuity: Oversee the global integration strategy, ensuring data flows seamlessly, securely, and reliably between Workday and all adjacent corporate applications (e.g., identity systems, downstream business applications, and data warehouses).
Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner directly with Executive Leadership across People Ops, Finance, and Legal to optimize complex business processes that span multiple departments.
4. Risk, Security, & Global Compliance
Global Security Matrix: Own the overarching Workday security and data-access design, ensuring strict role-based and regional data privacy control.
Audit Readiness: Partner with corporate teams to ensure the entire Workday stack adheres to internal controls, global data privacy mandates and statutory audit frameworks.
Role Requirements & Qualifications
7+ years of progressive experience managing enterprise SaaS platforms, with at least 5 years of dedicated ownership over a multi-module Workday environment.
Proven experience overseeing broad Workday deployments and/or internal enhancements.
Experience leading or playing a principal role in major, full-lifecycle Workday implementations, expansions, or global rollouts.
Minimum of 3 years of direct experience leading, managing, and developing a technical team (ideally globally distributed).
Exceptional stakeholder management skills; ability to translate complex system architecture decisions into clear business outcomes for executive leadership (CHRO, CFO, CIO).
